Hi, I’m Lukas Baeskow, a German musical theatre actor, musician, and magician based in New York City, who gave up my free healthcare to follow my dreams.
I have been involved in various plays and musical theater productions in and around New York City. My most recent credits include The Court Martial of Almirante Montojo (Manhattan Repertory Theatre), `Tis the Season (Broad Views on Broadway), and Birds of a Feather (Living Room Theatre NYC).
I recently produced and sold-out performances of my first solo show called Vom Breitenweg zum Broadway in Germany and am planning to perform it in New York soon!
Other upcoming productions include the role of Defense Attorney Oskar Rolfe in Judgement at Nuremberg (Staten Island Shakespeare Theatre Co.) and The Storyteller’s Apprentice in Humanity’s Child at this year’s New York Theater Summer Festival.
For magic, I perform for private and corporate events, with shows for both children and adults.
I have many years of experience performing for children. I offer magic shows for birthday parties, Kindergarten, (pre-)schools, holidays, and other gatherings in both German and English. The kids are actively engaged throughout the show and enjoy participating in helping me do tricks. Suitable from 3 years of age up, I’m happy to incorporate your parties theme and create unforgettable memories for the young guests.
For adults, my broad range of performance starts off with close-up magic, suitable for professional/private events, usually performed in front of a small group. I do multiple performances at events with larger numbers of people, to make sure that everyone is able to enjoy the close-up magic first hand.
Additionally, I offer stand-up or main stage shows that will enchant your guests at your larger birthday celebration, wedding, gala, or business meetings. As always, I’m more than happy to incorporate and create a show including your individual theme or message, specifically catered to you and your event.
I’ve played the trumpet for over 10 years and love getting to perform when I can. My most recent foray in musical performance included last year’s Many Moods of Christmas Concert at Park Avenue United Methodist Church in New York City, for which I played the trumpet.
I also enjoy playing the ukelele. 🙂
In my spare time, I produce my own solo cabarets and magic shows. My other interests include social justice, learning foreign languages, storytelling, fitness, and cooking.
Feel free to reach out if you would like to learn more about me and my work.
